Terms & Conditions

Last updated: September 2026

These terms set out the rules for using UK Trailer Market, the UK's specialist trailer marketplace. By creating an account or using the marketplace, you agree to them. This is draft website content, not legal advice.

About UK Trailer Market

UK Trailer Market is a trading name operated by Philippa Hodgson, a sole trader. It is an online marketplace that helps private sellers and dealers advertise trailers to buyers across the UK. We provide the platform to list, find and message about trailers. We are not a party to any agreement between a buyer and a seller, we do not own or sell the trailers listed, and we do not handle payments between buyers and sellers unless expressly stated.

Your account

  • You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract to use UK Trailer Market.
  • You are responsible for keeping your account, password and sign-in details secure, and for activity that happens through your account.
  • You agree to provide accurate information about yourself and to keep it up to date.
  • One person or business may hold one account. You must not share, sell or transfer your account.

Buying on UK Trailer Market

Listings are advertisements placed by sellers. UK Trailer Market does not verify ownership, condition or the accuracy of every listing. Before agreeing to buy a trailer, you should satisfy yourself as to the trailer's condition, the seller's identity and the paperwork. Any agreement to buy is made directly between you and the seller.

Selling on UK Trailer Market — private sellers and dealers

  • Private sellers may list trailers they own and are entitled to sell.
  • Dealers may list trailers they are authorised to sell on behalf of their business.
  • When you list as a dealer, you agree to trade honestly and to comply with any laws that apply to selling goods as a business.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of your listings and for the trailers you advertise.

Accurate listings, condition, ownership and documentation

  • Listings must describe the trailer honestly, including its condition, specifications and any defects or damage.
  • You must only list a trailer you own or are authorised to sell, and the trailer must be legally yours to transfer with a clear title.
  • Where relevant, you should make clear whether the price includes or excludes VAT.
  • You are responsible for ensuring the trailer, its use and any documentation comply with UK law, including construction and use, braking, lighting and towing regulations that apply to the trailer.

Communications between buyers and sellers

UK Trailer Market provides messaging so buyers and sellers can contact each other about a listing. You agree to use messaging politely and lawfully, and not to share contact details in a way that misleads others. Messages are tied to the chat for that listing and are not public. UK Trailer Market may take action where messaging is misused.

Prohibited and fraudulent listings

  • You must not list anything that is stolen, counterfeit, illegal, or that you do not have the right to sell.
  • You must not post misleading pricing, false descriptions, or listings intended to defraud buyers.
  • You must not use UK Trailer Market to advertise trailers that are unsafe or do not meet UK road-legal requirements where those requirements apply.
  • Attempts to defraud buyers or sellers, or to move trades off the platform to evade our rules, are prohibited.

Reporting and moderation

You can report a listing that concerns you using the Report Listing option on the listing page. UK Trailer Market reviews reports and may remove listings, restrict accounts or take further action where a listing or user breaks these terms or the law.

Listing removal, expired and sold listings

  • Listings remain available on the marketplace for a limited period after they are published and may expire after that time unless renewed.
  • You can mark a listing as sold when it is no longer available, and you can remove a listing you no longer wish to advertise.
  • UK Trailer Market may remove or hide any listing that breaks these terms, and may expire listings that remain published for longer than the active listing period.

UK Trailer Market's role as a marketplace

UK Trailer Market acts as an intermediary. We are not the seller or buyer of any trailer, we do not inspect trailers on behalf of users, and we give no guarantee about any listing, the trailers advertised, or any agreement between a buyer and a seller. To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for the actions of buyers or sellers, the condition of trailers, or any loss arising from a transaction arranged through the marketplace.

Intellectual property

The UK Trailer Market name, logo and platform are owned by UK Trailer Market. You may not copy, reuse or misuse our branding or content. You retain ownership of the photos and details you submit for your listings, and you give UK Trailer Market permission to display them on the marketplace for the purpose of advertising your trailer.

Acceptable use

  • You must not use UK Trailer Market for any unlawful purpose or in a way that harms others.
  • You must not attempt to access data that is not yours, interfere with the platform, or use automated tools to scrape or overload it.
  • You must not impersonate another person or business, or post content that is threatening, abusive or discriminatory.

Changes to these terms and the service

We may update these terms and the marketplace from time to time. When we make material changes to these terms, we will do so through the platform. Continued use of UK Trailer Market after a change means you accept the updated terms.
